The major property development in St. Vincent for 2010, Buccament Bay is pushing with full steam ahead to get the construction phase of the multi-million dollar project completed.
Word of this has come from Harlequin Property, the developers of the property, which is one of the UK’s leading international property investment companies specialising in luxury 5 star spa resorts in the best locations in the Caribbean and tourist destinations worldwide. Harlequin started development of the property in 2009.
According to a development update on the firms’ website, “Foundation works on the waterfront area continues at a speed with a special construction crew designated to this area.” It is also pointed out that construction at one of the main restaurants at the property, Trader Vic’s Restaurant is also underway.
This push in construction comes amid speculation about if the Harlequin properties would really take place as planned.
As stated in the update, the build is on schedule to have the bulk of the building works complete in that area within 4 months. There is planned beach reconstruction which will form new land allowing the pools and beach club to cascade over incremental walkways down to the new beach line and waters edge.
That process of reconstruction will move forward in line with the construction schedule of the breakwaters beneath the waterline that will protect the beach from any surges and hold the white sand which will arrive in the coming months.
Also Block 3 of the development work continues and casting has been complete for the 3rd floor which will be lifted into place and completed over the coming weeks.
Meanwhile Block 1 (Waters Edge) Foundations has begun casting for the first floor panels.
It is also stated that the overall block development continues on target and the construction firm has acquired two new high powered cranes on site to harness and lift floors into place.
